The characters of Leigh Hobbs adorn the pages of Australia’s favourite picture books, and the cartoons of Jim Pavlidis have become a part of the great Australian weekend newspaper reading ritual, but seldom are their works presented outside of these contexts.

For the first time, friends and fellow artists, Leigh Hobbs and Jim Pavlidis come together to share their drawings, paintings and prints in an exhibition that shines a light on the preoccupation that both artists share with the ‘touch’ of the painting; that blurry, soft, almost ethereal detail that, in the words of Pavlidis, means each and every one of their paintings “sits just right”.
